This is the list of Frequently-Asked Questions about Park
Model RVs.
1. Where can I put a Park Model?
Most RV parks and some mobile home parks will allow
Park Models. If you want to place it on private
property you need to check with your county building
department and ask if you can place an RV on your
property. Click
here for a
list of parks that do allow Park Models. This list
is always expanding.
2. Why do you offer only Cavco Park Models?
Delta RV started out offering several different
manufacturers. However, over the years the one
manufacturer that truly supported their product line and
their dealers was Cavco. Cavco has been the leader
in Park Model production since 1973 and makes it a point
to keep their dealers as up to date as possible.
If the dealer is left in the dark and can not get any
satisfaction from the manufacturer, how do you think the
customer will feel?
3. I keep seeing all these "factory direct" offers,
does Delta RV offer the same?
Yes, Delta RV offers "factory direct" delivery.
You purchase the Park Model of your choosing with all
amenities you want and it is delivered direct from the
factory to you.
"Factory Direct" does not mean you
are purchasing a unit from the factory. Factories
do not sell retail so those that advertise that you are
purchasing from the factory are stretching it a bit.
4. Why are Park Models only 400 square feet?
That would be the designation of an RV.
Anything over 400 square feet falls into the Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) codes. Now you are talking
about the permits, plot plans, foundations, and
inspections.
Keep in mind that the Loft floor plans do not include
the loft space within the 400 square foot restriction.
The loft is a half-height loft so by building codes it
is not livable space.
5. I have a one ton dully and tow large
trailers with it. Why can't I tow my own Park Model?
Simply put - you do not have the commercial driver's
license to tow an oversized unit. The trailer you
are towing is 8' wide and less than 14' in height.
You are not required to pull County road permits or have
pilot cars. Also, when a commercial driver tows he
is insured for the coverage of your unit. If you
tow it and damage it, you're out.
6. Doesn't the driver install the Park Model
when it is delivered?
No, they will park it where you want it but that is
all. The driver is earning his living by the
number of tows, not setting up a unit.
7. Can I custom order a Park Model?
Yes. Keep in mind that Park Models must remain
under 400 square feet. All floor plans are
designed to remain under that limit when adding bays.
If you want to stretch a plan, then the width may need
to be narrowed. If you want to widen a plan, then
the length has to be shortened. Basically it will be a give and take to
accommodate your needs.
Be aware that any changes to a floor plan will result
in engineering fees. Engineering fees, while not
outrageous, can add up.
